This is Caitlin. She is a very talented and beautiful girl. She's the most sarcastic 16 year old you'll ever meet but she's sweet to the core (even thought she will never admit it!). I adore her! She's going to be a senior next year and this weekend we practiced some shots. Here are my two favorites. Caitlin, you are a joy to know and I am so excited to see what the future holds for you.

Fresno State Fun...

I went to the Fresno State vs. Wisconsin game tonight. My roomie Alena has season tickets and was gracious enough to take me along. We had lots of fun. Our other friend Tabitha & her brother Eli also have season tickets so we all went together. We had appetizers & drinks before the game at Chili's. We live just down the street from Chili's so we walked over there which made it nice because then none of us had to drive. After our fill of Chili's, it was time to head to the game. This was a huge game for Fresno State but unfortunately they just couldn't pull off the win. It was an exciting game to be at though. It was a complete sell out crowd and the Red Wave fever was definitely in the air. Even though the Bulldogs weren't victorious, we all had a great time. This is Jordan. My camera's current favorite subject. Dimples to die for and a smile that can light up any room. We had a great day out at the park today. Here are a couple of my favorite shots that I got of this happy boy who is always willing to smile for me.

My fabulously beautiful roommate Alena let me practice on her today. We picked out a few spots around our complex and I shot away to my heart's content. We had lots of fun and as you can see we got some gorgeous images. She was a real trooper because we shot these at about 5:00 pm, the hottest part of the day, and the high today was about 105 degrees! So a big thanks to Alena for helping me build up my portfolio and for making me look so good. ~Melissa

Girl's Game Night...

Last night my roommate Alena & I had some girlfriends over for games, food & drinks. We had such a great time and I think I laughed more last night than I had in a long time. So thanks girls for coming over to our place and making it such a fun night. We definitely have to do it again soon. (and yes, for those of you wondering about our lovely designer coffee table...it's made by Rubbermaid. LOL!!) ~Melissa

So once again it's been ages since I've updated this blog. But in all fairness, I told you all that I was going to quit promising that I would. So I guess you could say that I've kept my promise to quit promising. LOL! Well, life for me has been in a transitional mode for awhile now. I am doing great though and am loving the changes I have experienced. My photography is something that has kind of taken a back seat through all the transitions and it is something that I miss very much. I got my new D300 and I've hardly used it! Shame on me I know. But I have every intention of dusting it off and getting started again. So, hopefully very soon there will be some updated work for me to put up here again. Please check back soon. ~Melissa

Saturday's Wedding

I shot a wedding with my friend Duane of Lutz Photography on Saturday. It was at a winery out on the westside of Fresno. The weather was perfect and the bride & groom were so sweet. It was a great day and I think our images came out fantastic. Here is a little preview collage that Duane put together highlighting some of the special moments of the day.

New Nikon

So I finally got my new camera this week!!! I obviously decided to join Team Nikon. (Sorry to dissappoint all you Canon users who read this and were pushing me to go your way - LOL!) This camera is amazing!!! I have weddings the next three weekends that I am shooting so I'm super excited to get to use it. I got a 50mm 1.8 lens, 18-200 3.5-5.6 VR lens and an SB800 external mount flash. That should be more than enough to get me going for now and hopefully I can add some other lenses soon. I look forward to sharing my images with you and getting your feedback. I'll try to post my favorites very soon. Finally....an update!

Hi! I know it's been forever since I've blogged here and everytime I promise to do better at keeping this site updated I never do....so I'm going to quit promising. But I have been keeping busy & doing lots of fun photoshoots recently. My life is kinda crazy right now (understatement of the century) but I'm looking forward to a great summer. There are several weddings already on the books and various other portrait shoots that are going to keep me very busy. I appreciate all of you who still faithfully check back looking for updates even though they are few and far between. Today's images are from two recent photoshoots I've done. Saturday I shot Kathy, the hot & sexy beauty in the blue dress. And then a couple months ago I shot my gorgeous cousin Jamie while she was here visiting from Canada. She's the hottie in the red jacket. I hope you like the pics. Feels good to be back on Xanga. ~ Melissa
